Long-time Ducatoon Park friend and client Gerald Schlink experienced his biggest thrill on Cup Day when his talented galloper Chickaloo landed his first stakes race in the Listed SAJC Mistral Classic.

The five-year-old by Sri Pekan covered the 1600 metre journey in a super quick 1:34.53 (last 604m 34.29) - the fastest mile since the Morphettville track was resurfaced in 2002.

Gerald closed out the day with a breeding double when Nowhere Else (Jeune-Bush Gate) was successful in the last.

Earlier in the day Ducatoon graduate Atomic Cat (Catbird-Arakazar) opened her account when third behind Miss Rubiton and On My Mind in the Schweppervesence Maiden Plate (1200m) at just her third race start.  The Gordon Richards trained three-year-old is a half-sister to the talented Sharakazar and whilst the winner Miss Rubiton spaced her rivals, she did break 1:10.00 for the trip - an indication Atomic Cat will be competitive when she appears next.
